Zygor's 1-80 Leveling Guide Review

Zygor’s Leveling Guide is one of the newer leveling guides and offers some real competition to the iDemise guide. Both guides these are in-game guides, but while iDemise is attached to your main map, Zygor is present on your main screen at all times.

So what exactly is Zygor's Guide?

Well, as you might expect it’s a speed leveling guide, designed and maintained by John Cook, otherwise known as Zygor. It’s an addon (rather than an ebook), so installation is simple. You dump it into your addons folder and it’ll load automatically. If your character is new just start from step 1, otherwise scroll through the guide till you find the right place for your level and go from there.

The in-game features are incredibly easy to customize and setup and the entire guide is 100% automated. It will literally point you to your next questing objective via a directional arrow and distance marker. As soon as you log into the game, Zygor's Guide will bring up its automatic quest tracking user interface frames. This frame contains the entire Zygor step by step leveling process, which indicates which NPC you’re to talk to, mobs to kill, quests to pickup, complete, etc.

The Guide also looks good, and blends seamlessly into Blizzard’s existing graphics and user interface, so there are no ugly bars or garish graphics here.

Speaking of that directional arrow, it quite literally points you to the next location you’re supposed to go to. It’s pretty much like having Zygor hold your hand the entire way, showing you the fastest possible leveling route. Every time you need to find something, or someone, the arrow shows you where to go within the millimeter.

So Are There Any Failings With Zygor's Guide?

There really wasn’t anything in the Zygor's 1-80 Leveling Guide that fails to deliver. The only annoyance is that you may have to back track several steps when you first use it. If you've already achieved a decent level in World of Warcraft, you've probably completed many of the quest steps out of order in along with soing some quests that actually aren't in the Guide at all. Obviously the automatic quest tracking isn’t perfect. That said it’s about as close as you’re going to get. The only thing you lack when you own Zygor’s Guide is an accompanying gold guide!
